Counseling and Clinical Supervision
Individual Therapy
As the parent of a child experiencing a behavioral health or medical challenge, you can become consumed with your role as caregiver and problem solver, or just as easily, become disconnected and overwhelmed by feelings of hopelessness. Through individual therapy, you can address the fear, anxiety, and trauma often associated with your child’s challenge. You can learn how to build resiliency in yourself and your family and come from a place of hope. Through an understanding about the power of our brain, stress, and our thoughts, you can learn how to have a stronger influence on your feelings and where you direct your energy to enhance your own wellness and that of your entire family system. The goal is empowerment and self-efficacy in what can sometimes seem like a powerless or hopeless situation.
Support Groups
It is powerful to know that you’re not alone and others can support you and share their empathy, struggles, and wisdom in a group environment. Through process-oriented support groups, you will hear from parents facing similar challenges and can share your own experiences. Group therapy can help parents learn from each other and feel connected.
Clinical Supervision
Sarah provides clinical supervision with an emphasis on the power of the therapeutic relationship, effective use of self in clinical work, and approaching work through a trauma-informed lens. Supervision should be a reciprocal relationship where learning occurs through reflective processing, support, and healthy challenges. The supervisory relationship is of utmost importance and is based on trust, compassion, and clinical expertise.
“Sarah will be there with you through the journey with her compassion, knowledge and clinical skills.”
